Mission

The laboratory focuses on both fossil and biogenic carbon streams, exploring integrated strategies to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions, enhance carbon circularity, and create sustainable value chains across energy, industrial and environmental systems.

Through applied research, advanced modelling, and integrated approaches ranging from lab-scale prototype development to digital twins, technology validation and demonstration, Cubic-C Lab supports industry, public entities and society in the implementation of effective decarbonisation pathways, resource-efficient processes and low-carbon innovation.

Vision

Cubic-C Lab seeks to become a leading national reference and an internationally recognised research and innovation platform in the field of sustainable carbon management, integrating carbon capture, conversion, utilisation, storage, techno-economic assessment and regulatory insight.

The laboratory aims to act as a multidisciplinary hub connecting science, technology, industry, energy markets and climate policy, contributing to resilient low-carbon systems, circular carbon value chains and the transition towards climate neutrality.

Values

01. Scientific excellence

We are committed to rigorous, high-quality, and impactful research, combining fundamental understanding with applied technological development.

02. Innovation and technological impact

We promote the development, validation, and scale-up of innovative solutions capable of addressing real challenges in carbon capture, conversion, and sustainable energy systems.

03. Sustainability and responsibility

We place environmental responsibility, efficient resource use, and long-term climate impact at the centre of our research activities.

04. Carbon circularity

We support the transition from linear carbon-intensive systems to circular carbon value chains, where carbon streams are captured, reused, converted or stored in a sustainable and value-generating manner.

05. Collaboration and knowledge transfer

We foster multidisciplinary cooperation with academic institutions, industry, policymakers, and society, promoting the transfer of scientific knowledge into practical solutions.

06. Integrity and transparency

We conduct our work with scientific integrity, methodological transparency and a commitment to reliable, evidence-based decision-making.
